My agent left and I no say in who I would work with next. It started off great, she listened, she got my tape done. The problem is I never got feedback like I did with my old agent. I've done more work on my own than she has. She's gotten me one interview. I got three on my own. Communication is once a week, when it should be more especially now that I don't have a job. I gave target markets in the beginning and feel like she is not listening. Also, tried to convince me to renew my contract and break it if something became available. I'm assuming to ensure she got paid. I'd stay away from Napoli. I will not be renewing once I'm up.

First, thank you for opening this website. I'm a veteran of the business, and am asked often by new staff whether they should invest in an agent. I tell them it's far easier to get hired now without one, thanks to digital means, however, good agents will have connections nearly everywhere you might want to end up one day. With that said, my review is for David Ahrendts, of Napoli Mgmt. I've been with David for 20-years. He was the third and final agent I consulted, prior to hiring one. David is beyond-connected..!! It's rare that I find out about a move before he does. David is straight-up, honest, supportive, and returns phone calls, texts, or messages quickly. No waiting a week, hoping you'll hear something. David was hired by Mendes Napoli, early on, and I know Mendes as well. These guys are serious about placing talent and helping stations find the best talent for the job. Some agencies pit clients against each other, and while that may be the norm, what I like most about David, is that he plays to your strengths. He'll discuss your goals, or market size/city, and tell you what it takes to be there. He's a cool cat, who has a great sense of wry humor, and relates well to NDs, GMs, etc. I'm not the best when it comes to technology, so David has put together my tapes/files over the years. He's phenomenal!! You'll send in material, and get back a reel that makes you feel like a superstar. I'm droning on now, I know, but I simply cannot endorse David Ahrendts enough.. I know him personally, and professionally, since we've been working together for two decades. He has negotiated many contracts for me, and always begins with my "wish list".. His demeanor is confident, approachable, and fair to the client, and the station doing the negotiating. Please consider David, whether you're just starting out, in the middle wanting a jump, or eyeing a particular station or market. He can make it happen! Thank you.

I had a different agent who ended up leaving the agency. He was thee best. I didn't get a say in my next agent. Laurie called me, I did some vetting, no one had anything bad to say so I jumped on board. I am very aggressive with job hunting and our styles just didn't mesh. She's way too passive. I was taking any opportunity I could get to meet with NDs in markets I wanted to go to. I was mostly advocating and networking by myself even though I was very explicit with her in terms of what I wanted and where I wanted to go. I've since split with the company.

I did not initially sign with Liz Sherwin. My original agent left the agency and I was reassigned to her. Although she is pleasant and friendly, I do not feel she is very attentive. I barely hear from her and when it came time to look for jobs she did not secure me one meeting. I ended up resigning and she did not impact negotiations at all. I would have received the same amount without her services. Frankly I would not retain her were I not contractually obligated. Personally, I think most people would be fine without an agent, period. It’s not worth the money.

Liz is amazing! I was recommended by another co worker at the time. She told me if I was looking for an agent I should contact her because she was located in the LA area, and seemed knowledgeable. I was looking for an agent so I contacted her. There was no pressure from her to sign a contract with her. She explained all the benefits of having an agent, how much she would take, and what she wouldn’t. She has negotiated 3 contracts for me, and I’m very very satisfied. Every contract was above the initial offer, all the added benefits were added that we wanted. Both my General Manager & News Director that did negotiations with her had nothing but great things to say. Liz will keep you in the loop always and will even tell you whose opened your video. Liz is a straight shooter, she’s been in the business a long time, has good contacts and believes in her clients. She also knows talent..being a former journalist herself. Not only does she negotiate, but for someone like me, a “baby” journalist, she’s been a good mentor and coaches me on how to get better. She coached me on my anchoring, reporting and “look- hair, makeup.” All those things , nothing but super helpful. I’ve recommended Liz to several close journalist friends.
